Publication transparency

Built Report is an independent South African construction publication. This page records the publishing entity, ownership and material funding relationships declared by the publisher.

Editorial and commercial separation

Advertising, sponsorships, directory listings and other commercial services must be kept distinct from independent reporting. Paid material is labelled. Commercial relationships do not give a client the right to approve unrelated editorial coverage, suppress criticism or select the conclusions of an investigation.

Disclosures

Where a funder, advertiser, owner or contributor has a direct interest in the subject of an article, that relationship should be disclosed to readers when it is relevant. Gifts, travel, site access and other support that could influence perception should also be declared or declined.

Material changes to ownership or funding disclosures will be dated so readers can see how the publication’s structure develops.
